Storylines from the Week

  • Young players are coming up huge for their teams - Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid, Jesse Puljarjvi, Patrik Laine, and William Nylander all had multiple point weeks
  • Toronto's offense is highly potent and much better than last year, but their defense and goaltending looks susceptible; they will compete for a playoff spot all season
  • Pittsburgh's title defense and San Jose's attempt at getting back to the Finals have started off well
  • Florida, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, St Louis, San Jose, Columbus, and Detroit are all where I thought they'd be.  Ottawa, Chicago, Nashville, Anaheim, Calgary, and Los Angeles are all in surprising spots and all of these teams but Ottawa had rough weeks to start the season.

Hockey Bingo

  • From the games I watched I was able to mark off "Pierre McGuire saying 'Kristopher Letang' instead of just 'Kris Letang'" and Pierre mentioned the college a player attended on at least one occasion during the week.
