Bye Weeks
The NHL and NHLPA negotiated a five-day bye week into teams' schedules beginning this season to allow the players to have nearly a week off before the playoff push. This week, January 1-7, the teams with bye weeks are Ottawa, the New York Islanders, and Pittsburgh.
